Engineering and delivery of the complete hydraulic drive system for the largest snow blower in the world. This required our entire developmental expertise – from the concept to the engineering to the programming of the control software.
The requirements on the operability of a “monster snow blower” are complex. Besides the reliability of the system in extreme weather conditions and precise handling under the most demanding conditions, user-friendliness also plays a major role.
The project comprised the design and commissioning of the complete hydraulic drive system. To this purpose, we used our entire experience in the fields of hydrostatic drive systems, working hydraulics, steering, suspension, cooling and filtration. In particular, we were able to contribute our engineering competence to the development of the electronic equipment – programming of the controller and the display. For the customer this resulted in a high degree of operating and driving comfort and ensured that special customer requirements were taking into consideration.
The cooperation with BIBUS HYDRAULIK AG during the development of our self-propelled snow blower was very successful. Its expertise and experience were evident in every phase of the project. Especially the specific engineering was implemented according to our expectations. BIBUS provided us with an all-in-one solution that improved the efficiency and provides our customers with a high degree of working comfort. We are exceedingly satisfied with the results and would recommend its services to anyone who is looking for a reliable bespoke solution for hydraulic and electronic systems.

One of the challenges was to optimally coordinate and connect up the different hydraulic systems such as the drive system, the working hydraulics, the steering and the suspension. In addition, the electronic components such as the controller, the display, keypads and the entire sensor system had to be integrated seamlessly into the overall system. In order to be able to operate the different systems as intuitively as possible, a user-friendly user interface was required. Our entire development expertise was called upon in order to implement the special customer requirements with regard to power delivery, precision and reliability even under difficult conditions.
In order to carry out the project successfully, we employed our extensive experience in the various fields of vehicle engineering. In close cooperation with the customer, the individual requirements were further developed and implemented.
In particular, we were able to specifically address the customer’s wishes with regard to the design of the control unit, the display and the controls and implement these in an efficient and target-oriented manner, for example to produce a sensitive drive system with good control characteristics. In combination with all-wheel steering and separately controllable rear-axle steering, this results in a high level of driving and operating comfort.
As a system integrator, we assumed overall responsibility during the project and coordinated the various systems to produce an all-in-one solution. This also enabled us to guarantee rapid support after delivery of the vehicle if modifications were required or problems had to be solved.
After the completion of the project, the customer profited from a significant improvement to the drive and operating comfort. By involving the customer in the development, it was possible to simulate real-life conditions and adapt the system to the special requirements. The high level of working comfort provided by the intuitive and precise handling results in less fatigue, more efficient use of the vehicle and increased safety during its operation.
Because we strived to produce an all-in-one solution, we were able to efficiently design, develop and implement the project. The benefits for the customer are obvious:
Calculation and design of the components and systems
Programming of the electronics and customer-specific solutions for the display and controls
Delivery of components and assemblies made up of immediately available products from our own stock and our network
Of the complete system by experienced engineers and experts involved in the project both in Norway and at the end customer in Hamburg
During modifications or troubleshooting due to our knowledge of the overall system, comprehensive documentation and remote access
Øveraasen AS is a family-run business based in Gjovik (Norway) and has been developing and building snowploughs, snow blowers and runway sweepers for more than 80 years. It offers its customers bespoke snow-clearing equipment tailored to meet their individual needs and requirements and is the leader in this highly specialized niche market.
We are extremely pleased to announce that BIBUS HYDRAULIK AG has once again been recognized as an "Elite Solution Selling Partner" by Danfoss Power Solutions.
Technological change is in full swing. For years now, we have placed great emphasis on energy efficiency, energy saving and environmental friendliness in our solutions.
Increased productivity and efficiency thanks to the new gravel-grading machine 2.0. This innovation “made in Switzerland” convinces through numerous benefits for the track layer.
